V.K is a music brand founded by Taiwanese pop pianist and composer V.K. (Chin-Yi Hsu), embodying his life journey from a musical prodigy to an internationally recognized artist. He began learning piano at the age of four and started composing at twelve. At fourteen, he was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis—a chronic condition that brought constant pain and physical challenges. Yet instead of giving up, he poured these struggles into his music, making them the emotional foundation of his compositions and the unyielding spirit behind the name V.K.
Since debuting in 2009 with his first album Reflection, V.K’s unique fusion of classical, pop, and cinematic piano styles has captivated audiences across Asia and beyond. His music speaks a language that is both elegant and powerful—romantic at times, soaring at others. It resonates with listeners not just through melody but through the emotion and sincerity embedded in each note.
V.K is more than a personal music identity; it is a creative force that crosses disciplines. His compositions have been featured in dramas, films, video games, commercials, and animation. He has served as music director for several well-known productions, including Prince of Lan Ling and The Place We Cannot Reach. His piano speaks across cultures and languages, making him one of the few Chinese artists to tour internationally, performing in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Italy, and beyond.
As his influence grew, V.K founded the “Wings of Piano International Competition” to promote contemporary piano music and support young talent. The name V.K represents more than just a signature sound—it stands for the pursuit of artistic freedom, the courage to innovate, and the resilience to keep creating beauty in the face of adversity. Behind this name is a story of strength, imagination, and the shared journey of music between an artist and his listeners.
